KEMUT – Toolkit for a More Sustainable Music Industry

KEMUT – Toolkit for a More Sustainable Music Industry

KEMUT (Toolkit for a More Sustainable Music Industry) is a music-sector network promoting ecological, social, economic, and cultural sustainability. The network was founded in spring 2020 by Finland Festivals, LiveFIN, Music Finland, the Musicians’ Union, the Finnish Jazz Federation, and the Association of Finnish Symphony Orchestras. The initiative arose from the need to provide actors in the field with information and tools to advance sustainable development and climate work.

Since then, the network has expanded, and in 2025 it includes 20 organisations and communities that broadly represent the music sector.

The network has acted as a background force and partner for, among others, the following projects, studies, and tools: Elma.live, Climate Impacts of Live Music in Finland 2022, Live Music Climate Roadmap
